Company Register

Before the staging ground, you sign the wagon company's register: a ledger spread on the table at Matt's. The left page picks the leader's occupation (the original three, with the original purses and score multipliers). The right page takes five names in ink, each with a look you can cycle. It's one screen, tactile, done in a minute, and then you're at the store.

Notes

Faithful numbers

Banker $1,600 ×1, Carpenter $800 ×2, Farmer $400 ×3. The hard start pays in score, exactly as in 1985.

A small perk each (new)

Banker: forts give fair prices (+0% markup on the first purchase). Carpenter: the leader can repair parts (overlaps the Carpenter role, so the role could be renamed "Wainwright"). Farmer: oxen graze better and stray less. All are small, so the purse and multiplier still decide.

Names and looks

Type or randomise from period names. A–G select a line, and ← → cycle the look (palette variations of the same sprite). Roles are assigned next, at the campfire on the staging ground.
